Sub designs

So I am knee deep in some new Nemo stuff. I've got some new pages inked so slowly I'm starting to determine the style of the art. But wow is it a tough process. Never quite as good as you'd like it. Also trying to write it. whew! this will be quite a learning curve. Thank God I have the lovely and talented Mark Schultz to help me. It is a bit intimidating to show Mark these pages though, man is he good. So below are some quick little sub designs I was kicking around. The first sub is an amalgam of these. Hey anyone want to sculpt one for me as reference?

More Blade Runner animated

Ok. So I did this for the Periodic Heroes blog, but I can't wait for that week (I'll just have to do another character for PH when that week comes). So here's Pris. (spoiler alert! but hey, if you like looking at comic art, and HAVEN'T seen Blade Runner, then I can't help you) Her death in that movie is still one of the freakiest deaths ever. I am thoroughly weird-ed out by it. Enjoy.

Blade Runner animated?

Blade Runner animated? Wow, don't I wish. I posted this over at the Periodic Heroes blog but I thought I'd post it here too. Man, I love this movie. Should I do more of the characters from the movie? I think I would do Pris next. Ink on matt board, and photoshop.

Drawing Trees!

So I added something to the drawing for Sequential class, how to approach drawing trees and foliage. The main reason was because I got sick of seeing an otherwise adequate environment drawing ruined by generic "tree shape". What looked like cotton balls on sticks. Also it killed me when someone put palm trees in the American northwest? Do your reference! These are from last quarter, all on 11x17 copy paper.

Another in class demo

Here's a little demo I did in class (It's unfinished because if I had finished it everyone would been asleep by the end of it), related to figures in perspective, and reconciling curves and figure placement in perspective. Nothing like the pressure of 20 eyes watching as you draw and hopefully not screw up (I never screw up though, seriously, never, tee-hee).
